1999 Camry stops with some jerk
I have seen this happened twice.
While I am driving the car, the car starts giving jerks and stops. If I try to restart the car immediately it does not start. I take out my keys and wait for 10-15 seconds and restart the car the car starts with no problem and run smoothly. I am afraid that this is the indication of some problem. The car has 79K miles on it and it is very reliable. The battery in the car is about a year old. Anyone has any idea what is happening to it. |

Re: 1999 Camry stops with some jerk
Welcome to the AF!
Unfortunately, an intermittent problem like this needs a lot of luck to fix unless you troubleshoot it when it won't start and provide us with some information. The next time it dies and when it won't start, quickly pull one of the plug wires and test to see if you have spark to the plugs. Bring along a screwdriver that fits in the spark plug wire boot and place it near the engine block while you crank the engine and can see it. It should give a blue snapping strong spark. If you can't ever test the engine quick enough, my best guess as to the cause would be a bad ignition coil. Try replacing it and see if that solves your problem.
