HI, I'm having trouble with some "back explotions" while driving, so Í decided to change the sparks, and its wires, and would like to know about the timing specifications (angles, etc.) and how to reset it no my truck. Thanks in advance for the help. Greetings from Paraguay.

Re: How to set ignition timing for a 1990 silverado chevy c1500 305 engine?
On the passenger side firewall, there is a black cover over the power distribution block. Remove the cover and look for a black wire with a tan strip. It should have a connector, disconnect it and set the timing to 0. Reconnect the wire.
If it is back firing, it could be a due to a lean condition. Replace the fuel filter if it has not been replaced recently. //2000CAYukon |

I don't have a picture but do have a 90 K1500 with a 5.7. The wire is black with a tan strip and the connector is a green weather pack connection.
