HELP!!! 95 s/c starts if i prime.
95 Buick Riviera s/c 3.8 So glad I found this site; It seems very informative. Here is the problem.
I changed the fuel pump and the filter, have preasure to the fuel rail but it will not start. this car has sat for about 7 months so.. If i prime the super charger with a few squirts of gas it will start but die right away. It seems the fuel injector are not giving this engine fuel; Idid check the voltage on one of the connectors and it shows some 9 to 12 volts. There is something simple..right under my nose but I cant figure it out! Please? Please? Any information will be priceless I am sure. Respectfully Dan |

You need to invest in a set of “noid lights” to test injector pulse. Put the lights on the injectors and have someone start the engine while you watch the injectors pulse, or not!

Re: HELP!!! 95 s/c starts if i prime.
Check for voltage to the Pink wire @ injectors while in the start mode. No voltage here would indicate the Fuel injector fuse. If you have voltage on the pink wire, I would suspect the PCM not pulsing the injectors. This could be because the TDM is not sending the pulse width modulated signal to the PCM, or it could be the PCM itself.

Re: HELP!!! 95 s/c starts if i prime.
ok...found this pink wire to injection harness...looked like mice have nibbled on it or maybe someone else cut (not severed) to "test"? Anyhow...I spliced it back...got about 9 volts cranked it...it fired right up! Temp gauge bounces and trac control light comes on with check eng light. But...It starts!!!
Thank you for this little pointer...i think it must have been the problem. You are awesome and this forum is my hero. dwn757 |
