O2 sensor spoofing?

My '96 del Sol S is throwing P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold). I'm planning to get rid of the car this summer but I need to pass inspection in March. Is it just a matter of hooking a resistor in on one of the wires to the secondary O2 sensor to get rid of the MIL? Looking for the cheapest solution. Emissions testing is not done here, and I hear the car will be doing track duty in its future life, so I'm not interested in replacing the cat.

Re: O2 sensor spoofing?

Neat, so the universal one should work fine?

yes, either the dual output or the single output depending on what your car has
