Question about my current set up
So I think I might have resolved my clutch chatter problem. It still chatters a tad bit but after getting some more break in miles on it, it is MUCH better now. I even called ACT yesterday and talked to one of the techs, he seemed to think it was a simple clutch pedal adjustment that would do the trick (don't understand how that would fix chatter), and other than that he said I'd have to pull the clutch back out and take high-res pics and send them to him. Well screw that, too much work haha. I'm thinking the only reason I'm getting the chatter/vibration-like now is because of the polyurethane motor mounts which is understandable. And it IS much, much smoother than it used to be. Now I'm wondering if anyone else on the forums have a performance set up similar to mine. If so, what kind of 1/4 times do you run on pump gas? I'm very curious because I can't run at tracks during this time of year
...and to anyone that has a 14b, how do you like it? So far I'm pretty impressed with this turbo. It builds boost extremely quick and seems to hold all 17psi to red line, although it does spike initially at around 19 and quickly drops to 17. I was reading that some people were able to get into the mid 13's with this turbo. Is that true or bs? Last year on my old setup with the small 16g I ran a 14.7 at 15psi and had a horrible boost leak/miss and it was like 95 degrees out. Having a blown intake manifold gasket probably didn't help either. But this 14b seems to pull way harder than the 16g (probably for the simple fact that my 16g had MASSIVE cracks all throughout the turbine side and was probably leaking out good boost and took longer to spool, plus the turbo gasket was shot to hell also. The only problem I have with this 14b is that it spools so fast and hard I have a major traction issue haha. I spin all through first, lose it through part of 2nd and chirp third (damn FWD lol). Well if any of you have any comments/answers to any of this, that'd be great. Thanks, Steve |

Re: Question about my current set up
The people that make mid 13's on the 14b normally have 1gs. \they are alot lighter and most of the time they are gutted. For a 2g fwd it is likely that you would be around 14 flats or a bit higher on pump gas with your setup. |Its really hard to bench race and people hate doing it but I just want to try and help you out a bit.

Re: Question about my current set up
I'd say you'd be doing pretty good to get mid 13's. Bench racing FTL.
