I replaced the fuel filter yesterday afternoon. yesterday morning it took a few tries to start. but then did and ran fine. seemed to run better after new fuel filter. proir to replacement seem to lag a bit when given gas. now all day today wont start. it go rrrrrrrrrr but doesnt turn over. tried jumping it so it doesnt seem to be the battery. cuz jumping it didnt change anything. still didnt work. I haven t tried yet but i was gonna put some gas in the throttle body to see if that works. "thats what my uncle suggested". seems like it isnt getting gas. I dont know. help. it isnt that cold out. but i was thinking maybe gas line has water or ice in it? like I said im no mech.

Re: 96 cav wont start
no fuel in throttle body. use some carb cleaner, and only let it run for a couple seconds.(NO STARTING FLUID!). if it starts, then you know it is a fuel problem. make sure the filter was not put on backwards(happens to the best of us sometimes). let us know what you find.

Re: 96 cav wont start
i suggest just check the main issues just to get them out of the way: battery, alternator, and starter, sounds like it could lean more towards a starter problem than anything else.....
