alternator

hey guys just installed my new alternator, how is the wiring supposed to go on the bak which order??? I have a lock washer(anti loosing washer) a positive and negative, i know the nehgative is supposed to go on first i'm just not sure in which order.

Are you asking about the wire or washer hookup?

yeah it's the wiring but the washer fits in there some where so they don't loosen up!! what order does the wiring go e.g black/red washer or black/washer/red?????

You do not get red and black washers on a normal alternator installation.
If you have a red or black washer you are into a world of problems.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS or
Take it back to the parts store and let them show you how the washers go.
Or post us a picture of it and washers.

The only wassher you should have is sometimes a lock washer that goes between the wire terminial and the nut.

It doesn't matter what order you make the connections in, unlike a generator you dont have to polarize an alternator, just make sure you disconnected the neg battery cable first. the washer is for the ground wire which goes to a threaded post on the alternator housing.
