Completed Project! Imai Beetle with motor (8 PICS)
Hi everyone,
here are some pics of my most recently completed project. Its a VW Beetle made by Imai. i got the model off ebay and its the first and only Imai model i've ever worked with. no where near the quality of a tamiya kit but still decent. the model was originally made to use a motor. the kit didnt come with a motor but i had an extra one that i picked up from tiny imports a while back. you can see the wheels in action in the last picture. The kit is mostly stock with the exception of the rims, motor and a slight lowering job. it wasn't the easiest project i've built but im happy with the end result. comments & thoughts are always welcome.         As a bonus, ive added a photo of my current project. its a tamiya beetle with opening doors and "trunk", a pseudo RSI front and rear and Wings west side accents. its a hodge podge of mods but i like it. let me know what you think so far.

by the way, the using the motor to watch the model run across the floor is a big mistake. i tried it without the body on and it slammed into a wall. Oh well. the good news is that the model can be used to sand down tires for other kits. it works like a dream! safer than my dremel!

That's a cool Beetle !!!
 Kind of "French look" as we call this in europe. I have the Imai Moon Cab to do. I hope mine will be as beautiful as yours. I also like the your future RSI Newbeetle. Give us pics soon. Deedlit

Lets hit the surf dude!!!
That looks really nice, i really like it with those rims, i wish you'd add a surf board to a rack on top though!
 The current beetle is looking real smart, seems your getting to grips with the styrene sheet.
