96 Blazer Fuel Pump Delaying

I've searched this problem and could not find a post on fuel pump delaying only the relay and bad fuel pump. I have a 96 blazer 2 door 4x4 4.3, I have recently put in a new fuel pump(Salvage Pump) and it works fine when it finally kicks on, My problem is when I turn my key on I have to wait for the pump to turn on, also the chime and gage lights come on at the same time the pump does, I have changed around my relays in glove box and purchased new fuel pump relay new from Oriellys( one closest to the drivers side in glove box) still it dalays for some while sometimes 5 seconds sometimes 10-20 sec. Also while driving the motor will die for 1 second or maybe 1\2 sec. then it returns to running as normal. This seems to be a electrical prob. for sure, mainly because of the lights and chime have to finally kick on so that i can start my truck. I need help fast, this is my daily driver to work. Thanks a lot for any answers.

Re: 96 Blazer Fuel Pump Delaying

Check fuel pump pressure and check for voltage to fuel pump on gray fuel pump wire and wiring plugin at fuel pump.
You are losing voltage or fuel pump is bad.
If gray feed wire is losing voltage work back to relay power feed and pcm relay control.
If the gray wire holds good voltage head back to fuel pump and wiring plugin.
How is the fuel pressure running?

Re: 96 Blazer Fuel Pump Delaying

Yes sometimes it takes a new one. The old one you switched could have been bad or someone may have already switched it.
You are welcome and thanks for posting back how it went.
Glad all is well and running.
