honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

I'm busy with a honda CB750F in 1:6 from tamiya.

Here some progress pictures.

Now i came to a big problem, my decals are dead.
Is there someone who can help me out with other decals or mail me a scan of them.

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

What did you use for that wonderful Chrome look?
The engine looks real! If you didn't say 1:6 I'd have thought you rebuilding a real bike!!

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

Pirata12, the engine chrome is sprayed with Tamiya smoke ( PS-31 ).

The rearswingarm is sprayed black.

Also the chaingard and some more covers.

Some parts are sprayed in the first layer of primer.

One rear shock is assembled.

Now i came to a major problem, the decals are worn very badly.
The decals for the fueltank broke just like the Honda wing.
I hoped to get some new decals from Tamiya- netherlands, but they say the kit is to old an never will be rereleased( they say the same about the Porsche 934RSR turbo , I believe it was released two months ago? ).
I hope the little decals wil be useable ( like dashboard, shocks, e.d. ).
But if some one has decals left.

kind regards
Denman

Looking good, the shock looks real...

do you still need a scan of the decals as I have 1 of these kits?

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

Really nice job so far!

Your national Tamiya agents are talking rubbish - they often do (if the UK office is anything to go by!). The kit was released and Tamiya HQ usually have huge stocks of older decals available.

If they don't want to help there is always Rainbow10; who are showing them in stock:

http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html

It won't link to the correct page so search product number 0010900616001
Good luck!

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

I have had contact with the Tamiya factory and they can deliver the decals.
They also going to find out what's wrong with our agent.

I'll put on an update this evening ( now 6:00 local time ).

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

Here is the update.

The rear swingarm is fully assembled.

When everything was dry the swingarm was placed in the frame and the engine was finished.

After a question from a dutchforum member i made some pic's with a 1:12 car, to see the difference in scale.

Here a pic with the Honda from my daughter(10 jears old ).

And some pic's in the showcase.

Great Job !

Can you tell us if there is the choice in the box to make a detailled chain link by link (like on CB 750 Racing 1/6) ?

The chain is not as link by link, but just one piece.

Thanks for all the comments.

Very nice work so far.

About 10 years ago I did the FXE 1200 Superglide motorcycle. I'd love to do a couple more of the large motorcycle kits.

Re: honda cb750F ( 1:6 )

Last weekend put decals on the sidecovers.

The one with the blue striping is the original.

And because i'm building it like an well preseved users bike, i dicided to put on one cover with another striping like it was lost and bought anotherone from internet.
