the only way i can get out of my truck this morning was to open the door
from the outside cause the handle inside let go! im just wondering if theres
anyone out there who can point me in the right direction on how to take
the plastic molding off so i can get to the handle mechanism...maybe a diagram or steps on how to take it off

Re: Inside door handle let go!

If you have a truck that has power windows and locks the process is very easy.
Remove the mirror plastic fillet(top right corner), the two screws in the armrest and a machine screw in edge of door which fastens to the outside door handle. There is also a little bezel around the interior door handle. It has four little tabs on it that will hold the door panel in place( two on the top and two on the bottom). You will need a large flat screw driver or something similar to release these little tabs. They actually clip into the door handle assembly. If you do not release these you will not get the door off. I know because I have had to do both driver and passenger doors on my truck. They broke about a month apart.

Hope this helps.
