Read this to get rid of the security light

I have a 97' Pontiac GrandPrix GT with the security feature. I've been having problems with my battery and when I got a new battery the security light came on which disables the car.

I figured out how to get rid of the security light so you can start your car.
1. You must have another person.
2. You must remove the first fuse under the hood (there are about 8 total that look alike) which will get rid of the light...
3.When you turn the car over have the other person simulataneously pop that same fuse in.

Hope this helps!

Re: Read this to get rid of the security light

dear h,

would you kindly be a bit more descriptive of the fuse. first from left or right?
what size fuse(amperage rating 10,15,20) or the color of same? are there any words near the slot where the fuse is inserted.

thanks for the tip.

regards,
