Boost Problem

I had my manual boost controller set at 15 psi. I had not drove the car for a while and when i recently took it out, the boost was spiking out of control. I checked all of the vaccum lines for the boost controller and they all seem to be fine. The t-fitting is not leaking. I even blew into the line going to the wastegate and it would not let air go through so i would assume the wastegate is shut. I also put in a new boost controller that my friend had lying around to make sure that mine wasnt broken and that did not fix things. So do u guys think that maybe my wastegate is stuck shut? What do u reccomend i do?

So before you were getting a solid 15 psi all the way till redline? Are you sure it's boost spike and not creep? The 16g creeps alot for me. I did have it set at 15psi and by redline it would just creep up to 20psi. So I just compromised and set my boost to 20 psi.

No its deffinatley spike. Its allways creeped past 15 towards redline. But now it just shoots way past 15 immediatley and the boost controller is tightened all the way.

Does the wastegate ever open or do you let off before the boost stops raising. Make sure the vac line connections are still on and also test the wastegate with an air compressor to make sure the wastegate isin't stuck shut.

Ive checked all of the lines to make sure that they are connected and ive always let off while the boost was rising. How would i check the wastegate with an air compressor?

Put about 15-20psi into the vac line going to the wastegate and see if the wastegate opens. It may have gotten stuck shut while the car was sitting.
