01 regal seat warmer
My seat warmers have been staying on after I've turned the car off, and removed the keys. Needed 2 boosts because of it.
I'm wondering how to a) fix the problem? or b) disconnect the seat warmers? Thanks! |

Re: 01 regal seat warmer
Do you have the 3 position seat heater switches on the center console? If so, what happens if you take the switches to the middle position - OFF instead of leaving them in LO or HI.
I'd have to review the GM FSM to see possible causes but in the meantime another thing you can do is remove the fuses located at the passenger side dash fuse box. Two separate fuses marked LH HEATED SEAT and RH HEATED SEAT.

Yeah, there are 3 positions - i think it only happens when left on high. I need to disable them though. They've accidentally been switched on before turning the car off, leading to both of my battery drainages.
I will remove the fuses later, for sure. If you figure out what causes the problem and whether it's a big fix, please let me know. Thanks for the help. |

Re: 01 regal seat warmer
Are you getting the battery drain with the two seat heater fuses removed? Based on what I see in the FSM the cause may be the seat heater control module. If defective the 12 volts from the two fuses are being supplied via contacts within the module at all times which is abnormal. The two fuses mentioned are hot at all times meaning it is a direct tap off the battery and not via the ignition switch. The result would be parasitic drain/loss of the battery.
