who has a lock on their glovebox?

searched, nothing.
Wondering if there was any glove boxes that had locks on 'em, if so what model, or was it a dealer option? It looks like all EF glove boxes should be interchangable, please correct me if I'm wrong. Someone also suggested using pre 90 integra one, any thoughts on this?

I dont have one either.
Oh well, I have a $1000.00 alarm to do it for me. If theives get past that i'm pretty sure they could get past the lock on the glovebox.

On the other hand if you want a lock that bad, find a older style prelude. They have locks on the glovebox.

89 Si = no lock
89 sedan DX= no lock
89 sedan LX = no lock

i can't remember any of my 90 hatches having it either. however, my 90 accord did. that damn car had locks for everything...

trunk latch by driver seat = lock
rear seat = lock
glove box = lock

i'm not positive but i think the gas door latch had a lock too.

i don't think a 90 glovebox will fit. maybe you can get the lock from a junk yard and try and swap it with your stock. hmmmm, i'm smelling another little custom mod.....

My 91 LX doesnt have a lock on the glovebox or struts so it comes down nicely.

However, the trunk latch locks and the backseat locks.

I say you try to jack it off a prelude or integra, cause the accord glovebox is huge and I doubt it would work.

Another problem with adding the lock is you would need a different key for it.

As far as the key goes I'd just try to get a copy from a junkyard or maybe find a person whos parting out and get a copy as well.

The reason why I'd like one is to mount my stereo/afc in it. It could be broken open w/a crowbar but the person would have to know theres a stereo in there, and they'd have to bring the crowbar w/them in the first place and then it'd be hard to unbolt the stereo from the box. Meanwhile I'd leave the factory "delete" plate where it is. No one is gonna break into a car for stereo stuff when they don't even see a stereo and the security system is armed.

I know a guy who works at a junkyard so maybee we can try swapping things around. My brother has an 89 accord so I'm gonna messure that. I'll keep you guys updated and if anyone else trys this let me know what works and what doesn't.

$1000 canadian = $625.00usd.

I have the Compustar remote pager alarm with almost all the features hooked up. It pages me when my alarm goes off.
If the door opens, then the door on the pager opens
If the hood opens, the the hood on the pager opens.
tells me if my car has been hit hard, medium, or soft.
It has remote start, door pins, hatch pin, hood pin, sunroof pin.

I went all out on this alarm. I hate theifs, and would hate them even more if any of my shit got jacked.
