S2000 Aftermarket Parts

Hey all,

I just sold my RX8 (good ridens) and am about to purchase my second s2000 (F20).

So obviously the topic of tunning it comes to mind. I am having some trouble on deciding what tunning company to settle on. I bought my old s2000 with a borla exhaust on it and I absolutely loved the exhaust note it produced. But im not quite sure as to which cat back to buy this time. I was thinking borla again, but I've been looking around and i can get the HKS hipowered exhaust for about the same price and if i want to really go all out I could get a Mugen exhaust. But im not quite sure which one of these is the best opition (are there huge power and weight differences, or does it just come down to which one the consumer thinks sounds the best).

I also want to get an air intake kit, and from what i've been reading the Mugen one is the best (along with being one of the most expensive ones). Is the extra coin worth it? or should i get an AEM cia or maybe a Spoon duct and cotton air filter?

Then i come down to the question of what kind of ECU to get? I am a huge fan of Mugen and Spoon, but i don't know which one makes a better ecu. I've heard great things from both companies, but I've also heard that if i get a Mugen N1 it would be smart to upgrade the valve springs and retainers (and then that also comes to the question of who to buy them from and if i should just wait until i have the coin to get cams along with the springs). Oh, and i would probably also be getting Mugen thermostat, fan switch and radiator cap to deal with the heat regardless of what other mods i get.

Sorry this was such a long post, but these questions have been plaguing me for quite some time.

Re: S2000 Aftermarket Parts

i took a look at the arc intake, looks sick and it seems to be well designed. I know that the stock box is supposed to be a real piece of work and the arc seems to play around with that design. Thanks man. Do you know anything about performance gains with it?
