Possum Bourne Impreza - 2001 Rally Australia

So I hope to combine this:

and this:

to get this:

There were a few modifications required:
- swapped the body shell from a '99 TdC Impreza kit to get the correct roof mounted air vent.
- lowered the suspension from the Safari-spec to gravel-spec using the struts from a 2001 Rally GB kit as a guide. From the reference photos it perhaps could have been a bit lower, but this will do.
- I should have changed the bonnet air vents, though it is now near-impossible to find the Studio27 transkit for this, and I don't think I have the necessary skills or patience to do it myself.

I have also added:
- PE and seatbelts from a Tamiya Impreza WRC set.
- flocked the seats.
- BMF for the transmission tunnel inside and some heat shielding underneath.
- SMS CF roll-cage panels, rear-view mirrors, and front lip - reference photos showed the front lip there despite it being often removed for gravel events.
- no antennas as yet as my collection is about to make a little journey across country - fingers crossed for safe travels!

The decals were not quite up to the usual Studio 27 quality, being a bit brittle and very difficult to get off the backing sheet. Despite a long soak in water they would not budge, resulting in a few tears, and there was a white "shadow" left on the backing sheet where the decal was. I assume this is due to age. Thank heavens for MicroSet & Sol!

Anyway, on with the photos.

A few with Possum's Group N Impreza from the 2002 Rally Aus:

And with Richard Burns' 2001 Rally Australia Impreza:

Finally, a quick group shot of the Impreza rally cars I have here with me at the moment:

Thanks for looking,
Grant.

Wow, quite a collection you've built there! Fantastic work! Interior is nice and clean and seatbelts look good. Sits a bit high imo but overall great work.
