mk3 golf

bought this last week and i'm working on it on evening

when i bought it

scratch building a cooler for the rack:

undone rack and cooler:

a little corona bottle that will be inside the car (not finished on this one)

first set of rims with first try for the color (flat green, but it came out like shit)

wasn't sure about the results so i tried another one:

it was even worst so i finaly found some bbs looking rims but not staggered *banghead*

so i made some staggered myself with some spare parts:

the color that the car will be:

after some detailing (euro fenders, gti side skirts, textured top bumpers ect... btw it won't be that low, it's only because there's no frame yet)

more to come!

Re: mk3 golf

Not a bad start, good rim choice, the rear rim offset is a lil bit much even for a VW. Did you paint the window trim and euro-texed stuff by hand? id recommend masking and cutting it out with a new exacto-blade , theres a good how-to on here.
Good luck and keep up the progress!

Re: mk3 golf

yeah i agree i was going to go for a style like your ( just bought this set) and go with some wide wheels but i think i might make some widened steelies of merc wheels or something a little different deff think this car is heading in the right direction.

Re: mk3 golf

Try painting the mouldings with airbrush if you have one or with a spray can. Mask them up and spray. With a brush you can see the stroke lines.

Looks good though.
