I dont know what years you are looking at. But most likely there was a turbo model and if not you can put a turbo on it. As for the all wheel drive that is what subaru is known for.

What model Impreza's??? Some were turbo, the WRX's and other's weren't. I don't think they were all 4WD either........ all the turbo models are tho......

it all depends on where you are. In Japan, Taiwan, HK and outback, you can buy old body style Impreza turbo. in the U.S, you can either get a turbo kit or do an engine swap.

In the USA the only turbo car is the 2002-later WRX. However, there are tons of aftermarket kits for the last generation car.

What is it about the current model you don't like? If it's the front end that really turns you off, it's being changed. And there are certain things you could never upgrade on an older Impreza, such as Electronic Brake Distribution.

WRX ($24,000):

MECHANICAL
227-horsepower @ 6,000 rpm, 217 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,000 rpm
2.0-liter intercooled and turbocharged 4-cylinder boxer engine
Full-time All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Quick-ratio rack-and-pinion steering with engine-speed sensitive power assist
Viscous limited-slip rear differential
4-wheel fully independent sport-tuned suspension

SAFETY
Subaru All-Wheel Driving System
Front seat side-impact air bags (SRS)*
4-channel/4-sensor Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD

EXTERIOR
Aluminum-alloy hood with functional hood scoop
Redesigned front end with multi-reflector halogen headlights and projector beam halogen foglights
Front and rear fender flares
Redesigned rear end with new taillight and bumper design
16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 205/55 R16 all-season radials

INTERIOR
Leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel
Performance design reclining front bucket seats with integrated head
AM/FM stereo with logic control cassette, 6-disc in-dash CD changer and six speakers

WRX Sti ($31,000):

MECHANICAL
300-horsepower @ 6,000 rpm, 300 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4,000 rpm
2.5-liter intercooled and turbocharged 4-cylinder boxer engine with Active Valve Control System (AVCS)
Full-time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) with Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD)
Mechanical limited-slip rear differential
Suretrac viscous limited slip front differential
4-wheel fully independent sport-tuned suspension with inverted struts
6-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter

SAFETY
Subaru All-Wheel Driving System
Front seat side-impact air bags (SRS)*
Brembo braking system with 4-wheel disks
Super Sport Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)

EXTERIOR
Front bumper corner spoilers, rear trunk spoiler, STi side ground effects
High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights
17-inch BBS aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 summer radials

INTERIOR
Leather-wrapped STi MOMO brand steering wheel
Performance design reclining front bucket seats with integrated head restraints.

Well just the last generation was what I was looking at and I live in the US, and about the new wrx I dont like the front, but the newer ones i dont like either, but a turbo kit would be cool and as far as that breaking system you mentioned i wouldnt to much care about that.

EJ25 engine is weak, turbo kit will not push over more than 10psi. however, if you build up the engine then a turbo kit. you can make my car eat dust.
there are a few build up EJ25 turbo running around 400+ hp.

as they say, there is no replacement for displacement. the factory turbo 2.0 may be easier to make hit 13' or 12's, but there will come a point where it will be cheaper to make the bigger motor faster, simply because it has the capacity to move more air.

I will never get to that point but i'm gonna turbo my 2.5 anyways, cuz its easier for me to hit 12's with my 2.5, than to do a motor swap and start from there. plus, 2.5T's are just cooler

Yea building up an impreza 2.5 then adding the turbo would be nice. But im wondering which would be easier to build up. the 2.5 or the 2.0 turbo. Granted I know the 2.0 turbo from the start just bc it already has a turbo but dollar for dollar how do they stack up.

if i didn't already have a 2.5 to start with, i'd prob start with a 2.2... a legacy turbo 2.2 to be exact. good bang for the buck there.

tell your friends they're ghey, get the wagon, then when you beat them, endlessly tease them about getting beat by a wagon
