Question Chikara Header NEED HELP

ok......i have a 97 civic ex coupe. i needed a header for cheap. cause in a year or 2 im goin turbo, and i dont want to drop 300+ for a good quality one like DC. i ordered the header from summit racing. i get it in the mail. the instructions say 1996-1998 (except ex models) WTF??? i call summit. and they say that hedman/chikara, lists the 97 ex as having a 1.7 ....so we go through the round about. they call heddman and say the best they can do is take the old hedder back and send me a new more expensive one. now here is what i am thinking. i think the actual header part (its a 2 peice) will bold up. it has the O2 sensor grommet. the b-pipe/downpipe is where the problem is. it also has a O2 sensor grommet. what i was thinking was to plug the 2nd O2 hole and run it like that. no problems right???? right.......i was just curious as to whether the length of the pipes was different and might cause a problem. wouldn't think so since all models have the same wheelbase. but do they have the same cat placement. ??? remember the ex has an after cat O2.........anyone using this header on their car?????? anyone have any idea???

yeah i've called them...the first guy at summitt said it wouldn't work and offered to sell me a pace setter. the next guy said it should work. never called hedman. i installed it today. it bolted up fine....except at the cat. there is an exhaust leak and it is throwing an engine code. dont know which code. after i get out of class tomorrow. i'm going to the muffler shop to try and have the leak fixed. then i'm going to my mechanic to have the code checked out.........this really sux......

well the ECU really isnt that big of a prob, the exahust leak sucks, but the code is really easy to check, the code is dealing with the O2sensor at the cat converter, so all in all, no biggie!!!
