1st race in my new (used) car

Waiting at a light to turn left with my buddy. See a 96 and up Civic 4-door pull out of the gas station next to us and get behind me. Saw he had an exhaust and rims. I only have 17's and a drop in K&N filter (came with the filter) so far. He starts honking and revving - he has a passenger also. Light turns green, pull to the outside lane and wait to see what he is going to do. He pulls up next to me, we look at each other, he revs and goes. I take off, knowing the prelude is much quicker and shift at only 5k rpm, no need to push it. Of course we blow by him, like he was sitting still, we laughed as we hear his exhaust, he was giving it Hell...

When I had my civic, Integras picked on me a lot...I love the torque of the prelude. I'm saving up for some mods now...

some dude in narvarre the other day died racing his best friend, and his BEST friend left the scene, ran off and didn't even stop. i think he was tring to go around a dump truck and caught some grass and roll like 6 times, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. so if you are goin to race wear a setbelt and learn when to stop. a lil bit a bragin rights isn't worth it.

That sucks. I wish people would find alternatives to busy streets and highways, open roads can sometimes be hard to find but weaving between cars on a highway is death. And also the people on the road didn't ask to be put in that dangerous position either, but yet sometimes they still pay the price.

We had a straight road, no traffic in front. I would never race through traffic...I always wear a seatbelt and require it of my passengers - I've been in two accidents in my life, both totalled and walked away from both, just sore. Rolled my Xterra 4 times and front-end collision in my Civic...
