Re: hp aveage?
Quote:
Max stock for your car=190 N20=65 JWT Popcharger=14hp (around or about, some have less, some more) Y=12 to 18HP Straight Race Pipe=at least 8hp ECU upgrade=10hp UDP=no gains in HP but faster revving on engine Catback exhaust=2 to 12 hp (if you have complete system, running 2.5 to 3 inches from engine back) Basically you're running between 290 to 317 hp, but some of the figures I've quoted are from various applications to different cars or from different cars dynoed with some of the same mods. So, some may argue and say more on somethings and less on others but like I said, "some of the figures quoted are from various applications to different cars dynoed with some of the same mods." I just hope that they will read the fine print before they start to flame me.

I'd say about 270 horse, maybe a little bit more. You have to take into account that the horsepower ratings on these parts are to the crank, not wheels, unless specified.

i d say 240-255 fwhp , dont take adds numbers, pop charger or any air intake wont give more than 5 hp , ecu=15-20,ypipe=7-15,udp=10,straight pipe+cat back=10-15, 65shot=50-55, notice those are the real whp, so f u have auto u'll get 240-250,manual u'll get 250-265:flash:

I just want to dispell the myth that you can just add these figures together. It just doesn't work like that. Its more like a square root of the sum of sqares kind of thing (think pythagorean theorem) for flow improvements. An ECU upgrade can likely just be added normally as can NOS. All the other figures I agree to though and more or less agree with the rest of the post. |

Hey guys, not all honda owners just rice out there cars. I have complete respect to all you maxima owners out there also, im in a japanese car family with mostly nissans. my dad has a 95 nissan maxima with full catback, cold air intake, y-pipe, dropped about an inch or so, and 16's, along with other stuff. I wanted his car but he said no cuz he wanted to keep it for a little while longer. Hes looking to get the new Z or the infiniti Q35 version of it sometime in the future. Maximas are def. awesome cars and i think hondas are also. Believe me, id rather be driving my dads max then my slow as stock civic HX lol(soon to start moding). I plan to do some big mods in the future but i dont have the moeny for it right now. cya

there's no point in modifying that civic. if you sold the civic and use the money it'll take to make it as fast as a maxima (especially considering its an hx and doesn't even have Vtec) and actually buy a maxima, you'd be a lot happier.
you'll need an gsr engine or b18c or b16a which alone will cost you three grand. then you'll need an intake exhaust type-r or gsr tranny to handle the new power a new ecu for the new engine plust it's all gotta be installed. if you gonna mod a civic at least get an EX or Si. my firend went the same route with a dx civic but his dad's a mechanic and just kept taking needed parts off of junked cars so to him it was worth it. Not to mention that's his daily driver his real baby is 1986 buick grand natonal pushing 550 hp. |

Good luck with whatever you plan to do with your civic, just don't let anyone goad you into overricing your car.
