New Engine for my hatchie

Yea so i blew my old engine the second day driving my car, details are in a previous post.

So a week later i finally get my car. Thinking since civic88 had a d15 dropped in, i would get one too. I look in the hood and what do i see, the infamous two little letters that make me crap my pants, ZC. So now i have this nifty engine in my car, only problem is my cars an automatic so i cant really take advantage of that engine like i could. Now my problem now is my engine sounds like its rev'n way to high before it shifts. Second gear didnt kick in until 30, and third didnt kick until like 60-65. How do i fix this, if it is a problem cause im almost sure no one has dropped a ZC into an auto. Anyways ... please drop some knowledge on this poor ignant bastard.

Auto that shifts late, did you try flushing out the old ATF and refilling it with new? Or maybe getting some tranny conditioner too???

he said he that he changed the transmition fluid, but im not sure if he flushed it. im taking it to my normal shop this friday and hoping they can find out whats wrong.

Yes!! Someone with a sohc zc that also has DPFI!!

Thats cool man, and yes I think its revvin too high seeing as my car hits 6000 rpm in first at 30 mph.

holy christ 6k RPM!? i dont quite thing its that bad, but either way, thats something i need to fix. Im not getting the gas milage i want at 6k RPM.

any chance at all i might need to get a diffrent tranny for this Zc engine? cause im wondering if the tranny just cant hang with the engine ... or is there some kinda adjustment i can make to make it work if the motor mount fix doenst fix it.

Im not sure how the honda autos work but maybe the zc is creating to much vacuum. Meaning It is always in the kick down mode like if you where trying to pass and you floor it and it kicks down and revs high so you can gain speed. Dont know if they shift off vacuum though.

I dunno either, I am pretty sure I am running the DX tranny seeing as I am running DX DPFI.

cause i like talking to myself ...

I took it into my normal shop in my local area, not some Cash only shady spot like i got my engine put in at, and they listened to my story when i dropped off my car. They said my tranny might not have been adjusted properly if at all which could be causeing the problems. Then i listed a bunch of other symptoms and they got this worried kinda look and basicly said "were gonna have to wait until we can take a look at her." So one way or the other, im turning this possible lemon into a decent car. I keep telling myself "if i fix this, then i wont have any more problems."

Anyways ... i figure i might as well tell the story of my car somewhere ...
