d16v6 power gains

yeah i just bought a 93 civic ex, and its my first car to be honest and i know allmost nothing about imports. on the other hand i could tell you about a chevy 350, but not a vtec.
anyway, what kinds of things can i do to the car to make it perform better? what im really asking is are there any chips, exhasut, parts that i can remove for power gains; at the same time actaully be able to start the car.

me and my friends are going out in a few days to have a race for a few bucks, so i want to know without having to spend 300 bucks on exhast to get a power gain.

after this race im gonna start putting heavy cash into the civic, but before then i need to know what i can do to make it faster.

well... iv never owned a car with a 5spd. i can drive one, but its rough in first gear.. i drove his saturn today and told him i wanted to see if i could shift like i was racing. anywayi got in there, reved it and launched burned out for 3-4 seconds and shot off. i dont know much to do at all.
all i know to do is to rev and shift fast and go.
can u tell me anything about double clutching?

BTW i really like that first race ever story u posted.. il have to post mine in a few days

thanx, and you dont wanna double clutch just shift as fast as you can, i just reved up just before reline and droped the clutch all the way and the gas to the floor and shifted as quick as i could, my clutch is fairly new so it pulled like crazy at every shift, the best advice i can give you is just go practice dragging if you want somewhere that inst populated or a dead end road with no cars or something, i didnt do this but i have been driving a stick ever since i started to drive and i couldent shift very fast the first few months but now i think im a pretty good driver for my age

im almost 17 less than a month to go, and if you want the sound ide say just take off your muffler, when my dads fell off his 93 lx it sounded good and gave some performance so if you already have had your emissions done for the year or dont have them i would say just take off your muffler untill you get the cat back but thats just me

i never said i was getting a wing, just shouting out prices...

i think an alum wings looks cool, not really for performance or anything, just for looks

dont worry about double clutching bro. that will really confuse you. took me a while to learn. but for drag racing its really not necessary. so dont worry about it
