The Great Replacement for the S-10 (bs)

:toothless
This hideous thing is supposed to replace the S-10. It's almost indentical in design except it has a ugly front end and is a bit bigger. Hooray....
Comes with either a 4 cylinder 175 hp, or a 5 cylinder with 220 hp.

I guess that makes my Xtreme an antique. I don't see why the felt the need to wipe out the S-10 platform. If they wanted a bigger truck then just increase the size, no need to make something ugly. Chevrolet

The body itself doesn't look that bad. The front end on the other hand is nasty. I do like the engine options though.

Chevy with their 3 and 5 cylinder engines, how stupid! And that S-10, just love the new front end borrowed from the new Silverados, which were borrowed for the all around ugly ass Avalanche. They need a new design team for the trucks.

NO $HIT! The body looks ok. I wouldn't hit a hog in the ass with the front end.

Yea, thats so wierd. 5cyl??

I say we take it upon ourselves to send lots of letters to Chevy requesting that their design team be put on the wrong end of a firing squad.... or better yet, how about test dummies?

rofl. That was great.

I don't know what to make of the bottom piece. If its anything like an S-10, those are the turn signal lights. But they are HUGE. Bigger then the damn headlight. Maybe they reversed it and now the turn signals are on top.

They are supposedly going to continue the Xtreme as well. But what does that mean, they are going to make the S-10 Xtreme, or are they making an Xtreme out of the Colorado? I can't imagine how disgusting that would look.

Here is a better picture of it.

What kills it the most are the wheel wells, the is just too much space in there, also the plastic flares have to go. The bumper looks fisher price like and just ready to crack on the first 5MPH impact. Then the worst of all, the front, it looks like it is supposed to have two sets of headlights, it would help to remove the huge plastic bar of fake chrome from the center, it just makes it look too tall.

I thought I would just pick it apart some.

Actually I think Robert Lutz enlisted Tonka and Mattel to design the new Line of GM Trucks.

Anyone else notice that the companies now are going to more boxy styles like in the 80's? Example, the new Rams, Silverado, Avalanche, Colorado, the Chevy Equinox (aka new TrailBlazer), Cadillac CTS, what happened to all the streamline vehicles? What is the purpose in making blocks all of a sudden?

At least GMC kept their Sierra similar to the style it has now. It actually looks damn good and should of been the route Chevy took with their Silverado. But no Chevy just loves those slanted chinese eyes from the Avalanche.

I strongly agree with DeViL, I much prefered the softer round lines that started in the 88 c/k platform. Everything seemed to be in proportion. I just hate the way the front end looks like it has some kind of extension on it. I don't think this body style is going to last. Good job to GMC for maintaining their 99and UP look. If I had the money and was going to buy a truck it would be the GMC.... Looks like they are creating their proto's with lego blocks or something instead of clay.
