Lightbulb Hmmm...

It all started for me when I was enjoying a delicious, tasty :spam: sandwich. I was about 6 or 7 and I remember a neighbor of mine was moving; he gave me a box filled with built kits and Hot Wheels. He told me that he built them and didn't want them anymore! I was fascinated by those kits and I was already a car nut so I wanted to learn how he built them... the rest is history!!! Mmmm that :spam: sure was delicious and tasty!

I just started modeling last year..
But only completed 2 so far.. now on the way for the 3rd one.

I started modeling because of the passion for cars. After building them, I can admire the car and fall even more deeply in love with them.

Modeling is cool and ADDTIVE!! :hehe:

I started modelling when I got my first Snap-tite for Christmas about 8 or 9 years ago. I remember it was a yellow Corvette. Ever since I have been addicted to cars and modelling.

I started when I was a kid in the 60's because I loved cars and models were better looking than toys-I wanted my little cars to be realistic, and I was somewhat artistic so the two combined fairly well, even though my first models...and most of them through my teens were pretty crappy. I recently unearthed a kit I built of a '62 Corvette back in the mid/late 70's...man, I was really building crappy models back then! Proves that if you stick w/it long enough and learn from the experts, they get a LOT better as time goes on.

some decades ago, about age of 8-9, an uncle gifted me a 1/8 YAMAHA motorX bike (TAMIYA). At that time, didn't know how to assemble it. Under this uncle's help, finished the kit. And found so much fun in modeling since then. But always build cars + bikes. Never build war machines.

My wish: build as many as possible and create my own gallery

I starting building cars when I was in the 4th grade, about 9 yrs old. My uncle had about 4-6 Revell/Monogram/AMT Plymouth model that he just had lying around un-built. The first one I picked up was a AMT 69 Plymouth GTX Hardtop! No paint, just the gray and it was assembled with ELMERS Glue and scotch tape.

Ah yes....many decades ago, about 3rd grade, my grandmother got me a subscription to the model of the month club, seriously I think it was through AMT. I had a to choose between snap-tite and glue kits, so my mom decided for me...snap-tite (this was a good choice as I had never built a kit before). My first kit was a '65 Mustang Fastback. No painting, just built it out of the box. Since my parents got me Hotwheels, Evil Kenieval toys, Matchbox cars, Slot tracks and such, this model car thing caught on like wild fire...I loved it. A few years later, dad bought me my first glur together kit and paint, an late '70's Ford truck, and he showed me the ins and outs of assembly and painting, ie he built it himself and let me watch. The rest is history...more kits than I can put together, or so my wife says, and getting more all the time. I love this hobby. I won't even go into the amount of armor kits that are in my closet.......

At 11 years old, I started building a Tamiya Peugeot 405 Rallye-raid, that I built with my father.
He wasn't a really experienced modeler, we didn't use spraypaint, made a crappy result, but hey, things you make yourself are always more pretty then things you buy.

And then the real stuff began from the moment I got my allowance!
