I used Testors Clear Coat on A car and it came out decent. It only had some little bubbles here and there. Testors is'nt that bad if you:

1. Heat it 20 minutes
2. Change the Nozzel thing with a Tamiya One from an Old can
3. Shake for a Full 2 minutes
4. Paint in VERY light coats.

Testor's gloss cote is trash cote. They have two types. I believe the original glosscote has purple bands around the can, the stuff is a joke. The other type has yellow bands on the can and is a better finish but it yellows over time and is not good over any light colors especially white or silver. Stick with Tamiya clear it is far superior. People who still use Testor's just haven't tried anything else. The only good stuff from Testor's is the metallizers and dullcote.

I had a positive experience with Testor gloss coat. (the orange band one) It's lacquer based, which is my preferred type, and almost all kits I completed, while I was in the U.S. were finished with that.

Since it's lacquer base paint, it will probably attack any brand of paint and decal, so the first few coats have to be mist. Then, each coat has to be thoroughly dry, and after waiting for a week or so, it can be sanded and polished to a smooth mirror-like surface.

I think because of the smell and the yellowing it is a polyurethane finish. It smells exactly like polyurethane finishes for woodwork. It does have a nice gloss and it drys to a pretty hard finish. just don't put it over white or silver.
