Has there ever been a FI bike?

uh...self explanitory topic. has there ever been a motorcycle with a turbocharger/supercharger/nos on it? if not, i may just have to make one

MANY bikes have turbos and NOS, I have only seen one supercharged bike and that was a hayabusa.

omg! and before i was surprised that some of those bikes were allowed on the road stock - i can't even imagine one with nos

Bottle fed bikes are fairly common.

There are a few turbo bikes running around here.

The problem with NOS and forced induction is the choppy throttle response. The bike is pretty much useless in the twisties. But, they are hella fast in a straight line.

FWIW I once saw a supercharged Boss Hoss.

I don't care how many years I put in riding bikes, I will NEVER ride a Hayabusa. I was flat-out told by a rider that the bike will do 90mph in first gear (albeit rather loudly, but still perfectly capable).

I don't wish to ever get on a bike with that much power. I know that if I ever crashed on the F650 GS that it'll hurt like a MOFO even with my jeans, padded/armored leather jacket, gloves, and boots. I like my skin where it is, as in on my BODY! If I ever saw a bike with that kind of power riding around, I'll walk straight up to the rider, shake their hand, and say "it was nice to know you". Only a very select group of riders is truly capable of handling that much force, and I can nearly assure you that they aren't the ones who are putting these things on their bikes.

(sorry if I seem a bit high strung, but I just saw a biker crash the other day from doing some stupid stunt, so I'm still a bit jumpy)

All four Jap companies made a turbo bike. All these were in the early to mid eighties with a 500-650cc motor and a blow through design. The bikes might (on a good day) be able to keep up with the bigger bikes but most of the time they were plaqued with problems. In the late 80 Norton came out with a turbo for their rotary engined bikes. By then Norton was so plagued by money problem they went out of business by 1992-93. UK Police used the rot/turbos for a while until they started riding the BMW 1100 and Honda ST1100s.

As fars as superchargers, I know of none that were factory. I however seen a Valkyrie with one and a V-Max with one. The Valk sounded like it had a looses belt,it was done half-assed. the Yammie though, it looked like a car set up and you swear it was on a small block chevy from the sound of it.


Most modern (2000 and newer ) bikes have FI. There are some carb models but not many. Harley still offers a choice but I hear by 2005 that will stop.

Suzuki Is making a new bike called the B-King, its a streetfighter look using the same engine and frame as the hayabusa... with a blower.

Since this bike lacks the sportbike fairings and body, It will not be able to match the top speed of the hayabusa due to wind drag, however accelerating up to around 150 will be like nothing.

IIRC, the B-King is simply a show bike, much like the Honda NAS. I doubt if it will ever see the light of day with a Suzuki warranty.
