What do "CAMPS" do? camshafts to.

Hey I would like to know what a "CAMP" does if you could tell me that would be great. Also while your at it I guess could you please tell me the differences in camshafts.. like this below

Esslinger Zetec Street Cam .405 258 deg.

What does the .405 mean? and 258?
because I see many differences with them like
.345 242 deg
.450 247 deg
and the deg. is different

They all say that they work with a 2002 Civic to. So can you please insight me on this. Thanks

Esslinger products working with a civic you sure?Never heard of it. Well if they work cool.
I am acutually getting ready to buy a lot of stuff from them for my car including their complete stage 2 head. Unless the gude head is better i'm still trying to find that out.

Anyway the .405 is the lift of the valve while the 258deg is how long the valve stays open.

BTW what else have you heard about them how good quality products do they make?

I haven't heard anything about there quality of parts, but In reality I don't know about much of anything car related. Anyways.. I just wanted to know what all the technical stuff meant because I want to learn more about cars, because I'm a "newbie." Thanks for your reply.

CAMP stands for Computerized Automobile Multi-Player its a CPU display unit, which intercepts real time data feeds from electronic engine sensors.
The unit is equipped with an analog display that can indicate speed, MPG, gas mileage, fuel consumption and injector opening percentage. CAMP includes peak data memorization and allows the scale to adjust according to driving conditions. On the graph display the screen provides a data recording feature. After a driving session, the user can evaluate driving conditions and engine performance. The graph is assigned by any available data to an X and Y, analysis. You can set a designated limit for all data. CAMP will inform the user by sound and graph if any data passes the limit. (For example, the alarm can be set for a certain speed limit to allow the best possible gas mileage). The (past function) provides five trip recorders that individually memorizes the total driving distance, operating hours, fuel usage and average gas mileage. The friction loss calculator on CAMP calculates the friction loss and graphically displays the percentage of lost horsepower compared to genuine horsepower. This function shows the best driving speed in terms of gas mileage based on aerodynamics and friction loss of the tire rotation.
