Interchangability
Anyone know of a sight or know themselves which year blocks are interchangable with the 96 vortec engines? My #1 con rod snapped with no load and cruzing on the freeway. Cracked the block, and scuffed the cam. I'm looking for a replacement bottomhalf. Thanks for any input.

95-98 are the exact same replacement. 87-94 are basically the same motor but not vortec. the only difference is the heads, so if your heads are the same u can go back to an 87 up to a 98. also some 99 models are the old engines. just make sure it is the same engine if u get a 99

They said the rotating assembly will fit, but the blocks are different. Thanks, Paul |
