Exclamation 2003 Taurus DOHC P0171 and P0174 DTC

I have read several postings in regards to these codes and I know they both deal with a lean condition. I was hoping someone owning the same year Taurus with the DOHC motor could tell me what they have experienced. I have already cleaned the MAF and the IAC and the codes returned. I am hoping there might be something I am missing that I can do before I spend 150 bucks on a new MAF. Thanks.

Did you look at the very top sticky from the Taurus forum main page, titled "Codes P0171 and P0174?" That relates to those codes and the Duratech. The 2000 model year should be very similar to your 2003.

Yes I did thanks, just hoping for a little more inregards to the same year model and something I would be able to do myself but I might just have to take it somewhere.

Other than your car having spark plug wires and the 2000 having Coil on Plug , they are the same.

Yeah I realize that. I broke down and took it to a shop and had them pull the upper intake and and sure enough there it was a hole in the rubber boot. But it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be, it was $148 total and now it is running great!
