My heat stopped working and it's winter. help!
well last night the heater in my wife's 96 4runner stopped working instantly.
I manually moved the heater core vavle to open and no difference. I disconnected the hose at the valve and at the other side of the core and blew a garden hose though it. the antifreeze was also coming out of the lines when disconnected. i think i've checked everything and don't know what else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: My heat stopped working and it's winter. help!
I'm not real familiar w/the 96's HVAC system, but on some vehicles there is a deflector flap in the air ducts which routes the air thru the heater core or the AC core depending on where the temp control is set. They can be cable controlled or vacuum motor controlled, and both methods can fail and stick in one position or the other.
