3800 Uim/lim

Who has replaced either of these.

***** I assume that the lower intake would just be machined and the upper would be replaced. *****

UIM is pretty simple, just make sure you replace the injector o-rings. LIM is more involved (and time consuming), but still not too difficult. Make sure you have a good torque wrench, and keep everything clean, neat and organized.

If I am not mistaken Troy may have already done his. He wants to know if others have done so.

Yes, 1999 Buick Regals LS Series II 3800 (113K miles) both upper and lower intake gaskets.

Yes I replaced the UIM gaskets only. Your lower intake warped Bob or was your gaskets just bad?

I did the updated EGR stovepipe installation. It was easier to remove the complete LIM and thats the reason. I don't think the LIM was warped or really needed new gaskets though. Plus I used all new manifold bolts both lower and upper.
