ABS brakes sensitive
My 99 cavalier has very sensitive brakes. If the road is at all slippery just touching the brake pedal causes the ABS to cut in. What could be causing this?

Re: ABS brakes sensitive
is this within the first 5-10 minute of driving? if so, your brakes are probably just cold or wet. mine does the same thing within that small period of time of just starting.

Re: ABS brakes sensitive
when i use to drive my J back in the winter, any slipper surface be it snow or ice, mine would always go on. I hate ABS with a passion.

Re: ABS brakes sensitive
You can try to have the rear brakes cleaned up and adjusted up accordingly. It may help you and it may not depending on how aggressive you are with your brakes. If they bother you that much, some people have pulled the fuse for abs, however I am not suggesting that. ABS are a pain with these cars.

Re: ABS brakes sensitive
mine did this so like muff said, i just pulled the fuse under the hood and put it in my glove box. it causes the ABS light to come on in the dash so i took out the dash and put a piece of electrical tape over it. as long as you know what your doing and not slaming on the brakes when its slippery out causing them to lock up you should not have a problem. my ABS was causing me to almost get in accedents cuz it would kick in and not let me stop quick enough. i have not had a problem since i pulled it thou.
