Re: Supercharger oil

Heres a page on how to change it. As for how often and what kind, you should contact your dealership for that information but the page does say to use GM supercharger oil.

Re: Supercharger oil

You will need to purchase two 4 ounce bottles of GM supercharger oil. The resevoir holds 6 ounces (one bottle and a half). OH and use only GM supercharger oil. Fill the resevoir until the oil reaches the bottom of the threads.

Re: Supercharger oil

Change the supercharger oil out annually whether you think it needs it or not. It always smells bad or rancid so that is normal.

The GM Part number is 12345982, List Price $6.92 per 4 oz. bottle or you can get it from ZZPerformance.

Doesn't sound good and I would not wait too long to replace the coupler with the improved one. A noisy coupler will make a ticking or rattling sound.

See tech procedure below for coupler replacement on an Eaton M90 Gen III blower.

wow i thought it was a lot harder to change a coupler then that. lol i never did it on my old grand prix because i was scared id mess something up lol. so i sold it with a bad coupler i might just go buy a ZZP one before the stock one goes bad and just do it while i feel big headed lol

That is a good idea. Plus you can kill two birds with one stone since you'll need to replace the supercharger oil. My recommendation to anyone with a GTP is do the SC oil change annually. And check fluid level at least once a month.

Re: Supercharger oil

Thanks again guys, im going to get a new coupler from ZZP. Will a bad coupler hurt performance, or is it a chance of busting and ruining something?

It depends. Is it noisy? A bad coupler could hurt performance but it depends on how bad it is. I had a noisy coupler for about a month. Regardless, the newer style coupler is better and the supercharger will be more reliable. Good luck!

my car doesnt whine when accelerating from 0 neither does the digital boost gauge work... but under sudden acceleration while im already going 60mph+, the supercharger springs to life boost gauge full and all. Can this be symptom of a bad coupler?
