2004 Tahoe LT - factory stereo ipod connector
I have been tryinig to figure out a way to hook up my ipod to my factory stereo via auxiliary inputs. The stereo has a Bose system, an in-dash 6-disk CD changer, and is already XM compatible. It also has an "AUX" button/option on the face of the stereo, so I think it is compatible with some kind of auxiliary input.
Several places have told me that they can install complex systems so that I can read the songs on my stereo's display, or on a small external screen they install, or they can make it so I can control my ipod through my steering wheel controls. I don't care about any of this! I have also searched online and found several "auxiliary adapters" I can buy and install. They have converter-like boxes to install. This seems like more than I am looking for. I just want to inexpensively plug a cable from my stereo (probably on the back, under the dash) into the headphone jack on my ipod and hear the songs. That's all. Can anyone help? Thanks. |

Re: 2004 Tahoe LT - factory stereo ipod connector
I think that the AUX may be for an external changer and anything that would plug into it, would use the data bus and therefore require an interface box.
I think you need a PAC Audio AAI-GM12 www.pac-audio.com I ordered a PAC unit to add a subwoofer to my system and it works very well, look around online you can find them very cheap. In my case local store wanted $110 and I found it online and got it shipped to my house for $35. |
