NO NO NO NO
Did I make it clear yet. Search for knock sensor on this forum and read. You have internal problem and the knock sensor is the band aid and thats it. It is an indicator of a problem not the cause in any way.

I totally agree. The *** knock sensor has been bad on every one I've ever owned, and at $600+ or almost pulling the motor to change it, they've stayed that way, and it hasn't hurt anything, and it never will, because the knock sensor only kicks in when the car is knocking and I doubt any of these vans have ever knocked.

I agree to NOT change the knock sensor. I am willing to bet that there were other codes logged as well. You need to find out what the other codes are and the code numbers such as P0325 (Knock Sensor). The other code(s) will probably point to the correct problem area.

Re: 99 mercury villager

had a very similar problem with my 94. knock sensor codes six seven times. Its true, the knock sensor indicates other problems. Mine had the same symtoms as yours. I had changed alot of parts at the time for nothing. After 1 month of sweating, turned out to be the distributer. Not the cap, but the actual distributer. You can get one at any bone yard for around 75 bucks.
