Aftermarket short shifters suck! but they're awesome LOL

Sooo

I got the aftermarket short shifter off a 93 altima in the junkyard (i was thrilled to bump into it).

Unfortunately, it took me friggin FOUR hours to get the damn thing installed! Why?! Because of course, it was not a 'direct fit' as they claim; it's supposed to fit 93-97 gen altima's. The problem? The two bolts that secure the shifter to the car were slightly farther apart than the stock holes...

I had to run to walmart (twice) and buy a dremel and a grinder and widen the holes, which took only seconds after i went on my second trip, realizing i bought the wrong grinder tool in the first place which broke the first time around

ANYWAY, after i finally had the thing put back together (which, really is a simple project just takes patience)... WOW.

The shifts really are, VERY much shorter and quicker. Combine that with the new tranny and clutch i got in april, new distributor just now, and a thankfully clean engine, and BAM... One nice little car

If you want to know how i installed it, i'd be very happy to tell you; BTW, the shifter is just like this one, so beware of not exact fitment!!!

Also, for the aftermarket shift boot i used this, and pulled the square shaped wire frame out of the stock boot and used that to secure the new boot:

And finally, for the aftermarket shift knob (since the old one looks huge and i couldn't get it off for the life of me lol) i got a cool ball one from advance auto parts, $13.00

Lots of info...
