How much Lift???????

I found a nice set of 32 10.50 so i bought em. Now i just need to know how much lift i need. 3 1/2 4 1/2???? thanks

To fit 32's you need about 4 inches of lift. Don't forget that when going that high you will also need a SYE (slip yoke eliminator) and rear cv driveshaft.

If you don't lift it and put 32's on there then the height of them would have them rubbing on the wheel wells and cut them up. That's if you could get them on and even make it move. I've got 31's with 3 inches front lift and 4 rear and they come close to rubbing when the front is at full articulation.

I was talking about not putting on a SYE and rear cv driveshaft. but i put on the 32 without a lift just to see how bad it rubbed and the back looked like it had enough room to drive it if the front didn't rub.

Oh sorry misunderstood you there. If you don't put on the sye and cv driveshaft then you run the risk of having major driveline vibrations, possibly pulling the slip yoke out of the transfer case. Considering the options of not putting in a sye and cv driveshaft versus spending the money and putting one in especially how cheap they are to me isn't worth it. There's lots of info on the web about hack n tap sye's and some people have said that you can use the front cv driveshaft on the rear but haven't personally tried it yet so can't say one way or the other if that will work. As far as the tires rubbing don't forget to take into consideration hard over steering and body roll. Rear may fit with it sitting flat on your driveway but get a couple of big guys to get on that same side of the vehicle and see when it leans over. For the front put them on and then turn the steering wheel as far as it will go and check clearances both directions as well as having someone push down on that corner to check body roll as well.

Yeh i have already checked the front and it rubbs but not to bad. When i had them on i jacked up the car three inches( just on the right side) as if i put a lift on it and the tires cleared. would that be accurate to as if i put on a 3 inch lift?

I've got that on mine right now with the exception of the coil springs i have 2" spacers. I've got 31's and the back has plenty of clearance and haven't had any problems out of the front even at full articulation. However the ride is extremely bouncy especially in the back as if you go over any bumps the shocks bottom out and you can feel it badly and if you hit the brakes with any kind of force or quickness the rear driveline makes ALOT of racket from pulling the slip yoke further out. I would personally recommend saving your money and getting a good lift kit and getting rid of the hack job the previous owner did to it otherwise you face possibly causing damage and end up paying more just to repair the damage than you would have for a good lift kit to do it right. If you stay under 4" of lift then it's highly unlikely that you will need a SYE and could also install a transfer case drop to help with any problems. If you get 3" lift springs front and rear it will likely put you to between actually 4-5" of lift, right now i'm running 31x10.50-15 and have no problems rubbing even when articulated.

Yeah, skip the add-a-leaf idea altogether! They will sag after a relatively short time depending on how much you wheel and flex her.

Personally, building your own rear pack is inexpensive, (the local pick and pull here sell full leaf packs for $12.50 each, I mean c'mon.) and much more reliable than the other options. Then all you have to do is buy the springs for the front. Easy.

Oh, and don't throw anything out until you've got it just the way you want it.

Well i have alredy ordered the kit so its a little late for that. But i was just going to buy i new set of leaf springs ounce i got some money so the AAL is just temporary. So do you guys got any tips.

Tips as far as what exactly? The kit should come with instructions if that's what you mean.

Yeh i know it has instruction but any tips that would make it easier that instructured don't inlcude. things you learned from expirience when installing one.

When changing out the front coils the easiest way to do it is jack up the jeep and put it on jack stands as absolutely high as you can. Then with the wheels off remove the sway bar links on both sides as if you were about to go wheeling. Then put a floor jack under the opposite side of the one you're working on and jack it up this will let the side you're working on flex down and make it easier to get the coils out and then back in. Otherwise you'll be turning forever using coil compressors to compress them enough. BTW what kit did you buy as there might be someone with a couple of tips for that specific kit or a part in it.
