Brake Changeover
I recently changed my 05 silverado rear brakes from drum to disk.
Now the new brakes are stuck on. Is there a pressure sensor that needs changing to release the calipers ? checked emergency brake they are not engaged. |

Re: Brake Changeover
Did you bleed the system after reinstalling? You may have air in the lines.

Re: Brake Changeover
Air in the lines would keep the pistons from compressing not opening.

Re: Brake Changeover
Calipers seized on for whatever reason, either faulty part or installation. Air in the brake systme makes for a spongy brake pedal which will go to the floor.. To properly bleed the system, you need a GM scan tool to cycle the abs.

Re: Brake Changeover
Problem solved. It was 2 brand new faulty calipers.
Thanks for your input. |

Re: Brake Changeover
Can you tell a difference between the drum and rotor rear brakes? I mean when you are braking that is.
