Power steering shut off...?!?!?!

Hello members of AF. I've been browsing the forum, reading th threads with similar problems as my car. This gripe, however, I wasn't able to find a solution to.Hopefully someone can shed some light on what's going on with my car.

Problem 1-
Problem 1 started about 3 weeks ago. I would start driving and my car felt as if I was playing around with the gas pedal. The RPM would fluctuate, then finally after pressing just a little harder on the accelerator, It would stop and then shift to the next gear. I replaced the fuel filter, but the problem still persist and now goes to another level.
Problem 2-
I've come to realize now that any type of incline I drive up, my speed slowly starts to decrease, and my car will not go any faster than 25-30 MPH. My RPM would be at about 3800-4000, and it still won't shift. Which brings me to my next problem.
Problem 3
My engine temp. will start to rise quickly. I thought at first it was because my engine was being revved up to high from the hill; but it started doing it when I was just driving on a flat even surface. Everytime I would stop, coolant would just start dumping out of my overflow hose. I chnaged my thermostat, but the problem still persists. (Also, my fan only goes on when I turn the A/C on)
Problem 4
Today as I drove home from work, the acceleration problem started happening as I was going on the on-ramp then my "check engine" light started to flash. I exited the freeway, and as I was doing so, I notice my temp. gauge slowly creeping up near the 3/4 mark. I blasted the A/C which helped dessipate some of the heat, but as I pulled in to my garage my power steering was no longer operating and my "batt" light came on. I just put a new battery, coolant flush, new thermostat, oil change, air filter within the last month and a half. Can anyone please help? thanks

Re: Power steering shut off...?!?!?!

problem 1 check for vacum leaks.

problem 2 get the trans fluid checked.

problem 3 when you replaced the thermostat did you purge the air from the system ?
If so then you could have a blown gasket or improper coolant mix......

problem 4 Get it scanned for the ICP lights on.
Yeah have you checked to make sure you belt is still on ?

THis is how your fans work...
Quote:
The PCM commands Low Speed Fans ON under the following conditions:

The engine coolant temperature exceeds approximately 106°C (223°F).
The A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1310 kPa (190 psi).
The vehicle is shut off when the engine coolant temperature is greater than 140°C (284°F) and system voltage is more than 12 volts. The fans will stay ON for approximately 3 minutes.

The PCM commands High Speed Fans on under the following conditions:

The engine coolant temperature reaches 110°C (230°F).
The A/C refrigerant pressure exceeds 1655 kPa (240 psi).
When certain DTCs set.
