is there any way of disabling the fwd and just run everything to the rear? maybe by putting it on a switch?? j/w be cool to be able to switch it from time to time..

If you disable the front drive in a CR-V you won't get any traction since the main axle is the front with power being transfer to the rear as secondary traction provided by the differential. You can only do what you want in a normally rear-wheel drive car like a BMW or Porsche which have some power transmitted to the front for 4wd operation.
