Funny Noise
I haven't seen this one posted yet so I thought I would give it a shot. I own a '00 Z71. A few months back I installed an AVS bug shield on the hood of the truck. Now, when I get up above 45 mph I get a noise like popcorn popping in my dash and it's there as long as I keep the truck at a high speed.
Is there anything I can do about this? |

Re: Funny Noise
I had the same problem after installing my bug shield. What happens is the bug shield changes the way that the air flows over the truck. This causes the rubber weather stripping along the side of the windshield to flap. I fixed it by running a bead of silicone between the weather stripping and the windshield. I also ran a bead around the plastic cover thing at the corners of the windshield/hood that was loosely attached.
Hope this makes sense.
