parking brake

I need to replace a couple wheelstuds on my 01 and I can't get the drum off. does any body know which way to turn the parking brake adjuster to back off the drum? i've turned it both ways and no luck. passenger side by the way.

Re: parking brake

There is a little lever on the bottom of the backing plate on each side. Make sure these are all the way forward. We have had to use hammers and tap them forward before. It lay be a good idea to lubricate them and work it a few times while the rotors are off.

Re: parking brake

I made sure the lever was all the way forward and i got a mirror and looked inside and the adjusters are in all the way. I can pull the disc/drum about 1/16" to 1/8" and I noticed the studs are moving out to like they are part of the drum. doesn't the drum slide over the studs?

Re: parking brake

Well I jacked up the car and took out the c-clip and the axle and rotor slid right off so it wasn't the parking brake the axle hub is just frozen to the drum! I beat the crap out of it as much as I dared to w/out warping the rotor and can't get it to budge. but i changed the studs so whatever I guess.
