Baldwin motion camaro

I've seen this kit a million times at the store, and I think I might get it. Only, google search seems to show that this wasn't a real car? Anyone know if its just a custom mockup, or possibly just a concept car? I love how bold and beefy it looks.

I found some info on google, along with pics,

Here are some links for you to look over,
http://www.corvettes-musclecars.com/...maro/index.htm

http://www.flyingarestoration.com/ for this one, click on cars, them near the bottom it's listed.

http://www.yenko.net/dealers/motion.htm another link, looks like there were two types, Baldwin Motion and Baldwin-Motion Phase III.

Well hope this helps!

Exclamation Definitely real!!!

This was one of the greatest muscle cars of all time! I don't have the documentation but the kit is one of AMT's better kits! I have 2 of them! Search any muscle car site and ask around to see what people say.

This guy near my house has a real one although it's really rusted and beat up. His Camaro looks like the one Honoturtle posted. The guy's Camaro has two headlights like the one Honoturtle posted instead of 4 like the one you posted .

As a Camaro Fan let me add some stuff.

The Baldwin-Motion car were Dealer made cars. Baldwin Motion is a car dealer not a tuner or manufacturer. They got COPO cars from GM. The COPO cars were specially ordered cars that had some of the most powerful V-8's that GM ever built. These engines were installed in "base" model cars. Most COPO cars out of the factory looked like regular cars. No emblems or engine designations. People in the know, could fill out a special order and get the cars pretty easy. These cars were not cheap. Most of them cost almost as much as a Vette.

Since they were plain, some dealers, like Baldwin-Motion added stripes, rims, headers and other performance parts to the cars. These cars are now collectors items since they are COPO and Baldwin cars.

Someone mentioned the 4 lights. In the pic of the model, the green car has a RS front end which if you notice has no bumper in front of the grill and has the round turn signal lignts next to the headlights. The red car is the standard front end and has a full length bumper and the turn signal lights under the bumper. The RS front is way more desirable than the standard except when rear ending someone. Hope this helps!

I saw this kit on the Revell site and have wanted it ever since. Still can't find it down at my hobby store though. Maybe i'll get it this time round when I do my christmas shopping there.

It is an AMT kit, and BUYER BEWARE: last I checked, the stripes are not included as decals and must be PAINTED on! From the pictures, it looks like a difficult masking job!
According to some literature I have on the `69 cars, they were capable of low 11 second frightening quarter mile runs! Theyu must have been pretty awesome!
