Rear Speakers Over Backliner.....HOW????????

Hey all, just wondering how you all get your 6X9's to be visible on the backliner, I know you gotta cut a hole in it, but I dont want the hole visible on the edge of the speaker, i seen some of you have it the perfect size so the back speaker covers the hole completely and looks really good, with no gap between the speaker and the backliner, was going to attempt it but if I fuck up, I would kick myself in the ass because I got my backliner done white and don't want to mess it up. Thanks guys.

Re: Rear Speakers Over Backliner.....HOW????????

Once you remove the rear deck, underneath there will be a bunch of little holes. Don't cut around all the holes, but cut through the outside ones. And if you are recovering it also, place the whole peice of cloth over the panel and glue it down. Now make a star shape in the cloth where the hole is and fold it back underneath the panel. Same the with the edges, make sure thers enough to fold it onto the back. This is for clean lines so no one can see the edges.

Re: Rear Speakers Over Backliner.....HOW????????

i might do that to mine cuz i have noticed the back is kinda muffled from the deck cover thing, and mine has some sweet grills to put on them.

Re: Rear Speakers Over Backliner.....HOW????????

i dont get it still............if you cut the outer hoels the hole circle will drop out...............and how do you pinch the speaker between the liner and the speaker, put the speaker in the hole in the backliner, and that stock black plastic speakers holder underneath the liner to pinch the speaker with the liner? this is so confusing.

hope these help. i threw them together quick on MS Paint. and if u cut threw the outside holes, the speaker should sit right on the edges...

if you still think it will slip threw, take out ur speaker and hold it down on the backside of the liner and trace it. then make your cut smaller then the trace marks.

Re: Rear Speakers Over Backliner.....HOW????????

Makes sense now , one question though, cut the holes like that pattern? just straight lines or try and round them?

Thanks How do you recover the liner also, do you have to pull the existing carpet shit off and then lay cotton fluff down and then your new fabric or go over the carpet shit lol.
