Toyota Corolla Sprinter (AE86) Club Racer
This classic little Toyota was called the Corolla Sprinter down here in Aus. I stumbled across the Fujimi "Tohge" Series kit for quite cheap, so I thought I'd give it a go while I was stalling on some other projects (more to come on those soon - I hope
).As for this project... I decided to steer clear of the 'drift' scene, but I still wanted a motorsport influence. So I chose a weekend club racer, the type of car that is daily driven but given some semi-serious circuit racing on the weekend. This type of car is quite common in the UK, particularly with small Peugeots, Fiestas, early Golfs and the like - check out the back pages of Autosport. The kit came with a half rollcage, so I added some cross members etc. Added a rally seat from the parts bin, plus driver from a Tamiya rally kit. Added home printed decals to depict the company who prepared the little Toyota for racing, and some sponsors who may lend some low level support to an amateur outfit. Race numbers are leftovers from a Tamiya rally kit again. I think the "race team" may become a regular on other weekend racers in the future. Thanks for looking, Grant. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Toyota Corolla Sprinter (AE86) Club Racer
Hey Tonio - thanks for the comments. I haven't had much time lately between work and a couple of other builds. In fact this was meant as a quick build to keep me going while I was stalled on the details of other projects - though one of those should be finished tonight!
