BMW 1-series coupe
Who wants to bet some company - these days Fujimi - will produce a BMW 1-series coupe? Did any company ever produce a 1/24 BMW 2002?

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
If the Series 1 is popular in Japan there's a good chance. Never has been a 1/24 2002 that I know of.

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
I suppose it's possible, but I just don't see it. It'll be nice to have it in the States, though.
A good 2002 is one I'd really love to have. But again, I just don't see it.

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
Considering all the modern BMW's that have been ignored by the kit mfgs., I would be surprised if the 1 series was kitted ahead of other more inspirational/aspirational BMW's. I could have seen Tamiya do a 2002 in their historic series, but that series doesn't seem to inspire Tamiya much anymore
If companies can't justify tooling something so universally liked, such as the M3, why would they do a 1 Series?

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
I figure that since the upcoming 1-series coupe is receiving a lot of attention, and is being billed as the 2002 revival, it might peak the interest of at least Fujimi. Afterall, Fujimi is producing a VW GTI. Is that anything more special than a 2002 revival? The 1-series coupe is getting far more attention than the GTI.

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
Sure, they may call it a 2002 revival- but BMW has abandoned everything about the 2002 (except for evoking it's memory for marketing purposes). The 1 may be a nice car, but it would be more accurate to call it an E36 revival. Really it's just another overlarge, overheavy, overpowered, overpadded and overpriced 'luxury performance' car- which is about all BMW can be bothered to build these days. I can hardly wait to see one tricked out in full VIP style.
In size, price, and spirit, the new Mini is much closer to being a 2002 revival. Not that I'm bitter or anything.

Re: BMW 1-series coupe
This is off topic, but wasn't there a company tooling up a e46 m3 sports car out of resin?
