I have a Z71 sierra ext.cab short box...5.3L push button 4x4..The question I have about the Transfer case and the hubs is...When you disengage the 4x4 to just 2wd where does it disengage from? does it do it all in the transfer case or up at the hubs and/both. Second, once you are in 2wd does the front drive shaft and front drive train still all move or no? Any help would be great I am trying to pin point a squeaking and all my universals seem to be in good shape...

Re: Transfercase/hubs??
The transfercas disengages the drive shaft and the hubs are locked/unlocked by a solenoid. If you have the money buy some warn manual lockin hubs Chevy's have a bad problem about the solenoid and the hub's going out..
