I just got a 94 caravan with a 3.3 automatic. I knew it had a problem thought I might find some help on here. Here is what it does. Runs great put it in drive goes about 30 ft or so then doesn't go you must put it in low and it goes fine but can only go 30, no reverse at all. I ran the codes by the check engine light and only got the 55 which is no codes. Could it still be one of the sensors or something electrical or the fluid which I have read could be the problem? It doesn't slip or grind. Any help of what I should check first and second would be very welcome. TIA

Re: 94 dodge caravan transmission problem
Update I dropped the pan today found a few small shavings I mean a few. Changed filter and fluid took the battery terminals off and cleaned them put them back on. Still no reverse but now it is throwing a code 23 and before it was just the 55. Should I clean the solenoid next or is there something else I should do?

Re: 94 dodge caravan transmission problem
Is it a 4speed (PRND3L) or a 3 speed?
